At least 20 people were killed, including a pregnant woman, and four were injured after a train caught fire in southern India early Friday, police said according to CNN.

Authorities rushed the injured people to a hospital and were investigating the cause of the crash. Local police official V.C. Sajjanar said the fire appeared to have been caused by a short circuit in the train`s wiring.

The train caught fire early Friday morning while it was roughly 125 miles (200 kilometers) north of Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

The passengers pulled the emergency chain to stop the train when the fire broke out and passengers jumped out of the car, Sajjanar said.

Train service in the area was disrupted or canceled.
