The  military-technical collaboration between Ukraine and Georgia is absolutely legitimate and corresponds to the friendly character of relationships between the two states, as well as to the international legislation.

UNIAN was informed about this at the press-service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, which commened on the statement of South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity.

The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine stressed that, in the course of military-technical collaboration with foreign states, including Georgia, Ukraine follows the resolution of the UN Security Council, strictly observes regulations established by international regimes in the sphere of trade in arms, as well as provisions of the national legislation in the sphere of export supervision.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 1, South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity claimed that the sniper fire at South Ossetian police posts and residential areas became possible “with the transfer of 40 sniper rifles from Ukraine and 120 from the United States to Georgia.” “Georgia has declared a sniper war on the republic. It is once again trying to unleash hostilities. Ukraine and the United States are equally responsible for that,” Kokoity said.
