The Interior Ministry of Slovakia is to provide Sk6.5 million (?214,500) in humanitarian aid to flood-hit Ukraine, TASR-Slovakianews agency informs referring to the Interior Ministry`s communications department.
The aid will be made up of ten tents, five WB 30 DXE pumps and 5,000 sleeping bags. The materials were loaded on a vehicle at the humanitarian base in Limbach (Bratislava region) on Wednesday, and should be delivered on Thursday, August 7 to the Ukrainian regional offices for emergency situations in the city of Ternopil.
The Interior Ministry is providing the aid in response to a request from the Monitoring and Information Centre in Brussels.
The floods that recently hit Western Ukraine have caused the deaths of over twenty people and affected more than 40,000 homes.
