Five Presidents visit Georgia to show solidarity – Yushchenko
European countries must do their best to solve the conflict
President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko claims that the visit of the five European President to Georgia is an action of solidarity with the Georgian nation.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Victor Yushchenko claimed this in the Symferopol airport before leaving for Georgia on Tuesday.
“Our visit pursues clear goals: to show solidarity with the Georgian nation and respect to its sovereignty”, the Ukrainian President said.
According to him, the military conflict taking place at the Georgian territory will be hard to solve, but, at the same time, European countries must do their best to solve it.
Victor Yushchenko pointed out that the cease-fire in Georgia must be real and not just on paper. He also stressed that the ball is now on the side of Russia, that is why the European countries must solve the issue of conflict at the Georgian territory in the nearest future.
In his turn, President of Poland Lech Kaczynski noted that the European democracy in under threat at present, and the five European leaders will meet in Tbilisi to hold talks.
“The Georgian nation is a friendly nation for us”, L.Kaczynski stressed.
