Merkel-Russian action in Georgia disproportionate
Merkel said at a joint news conference with Medvedev
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Friday some of Russia`s actions against Georgia over South Ossetia had been "disproportionate".
"Some of Russia`s actions were not proportionate," Merkel said at a joint news conference with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. "Russian trops should withdraw from central areas in Georgia," she added.
Merkel said a solution to the conflict had to respect Georgia`s territorial integrity.
