If Ukraine enters NATO, Russia may raise the question of introducing a visa regime between RF and Ukraine, though Moscow would like to avoid that. Deputy Foreign Minister of Russian Hryhoriy Karasin claimed this in Moscow on August 25, Kommersant reported with reference to Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin.

“Pushing the matter to raising the issue of visa regime between Russia and Ukraine, which will happen if Ukraine enters NATO, is by far not our choice,” Grigory Karasin emphasized in the interview with Ogonek magazine.

The consular structures will be ready for shifting to visa regime rather quickly… The question is different. Do our nations need it?” the official said.
