The Sub-Committee on Migration of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will be holding a parliamentary forum on economic migration, social cohesion and development in Kyiv on 5 September in co-operation with the European Parliament and the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada). According to the PACE Communication Unit, the event will run from 3 to 6 pm in the International Exhibition Centre (Conference Room 1), Brovarskiy Avenue 15, Kyiv.

The Forum will be opened by the Ukrainian Vice-Prime Minister Hryhoriy Nemyria, and is to be attended by the Ukrainian Minister of the Interior Yuriy Lutsenko, the Chair of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Population Corien Jonker (Netherlands, EPP/CD), the Chair of the PACE Sub-Committee on Migration Mevlüt Çavusoglu (Turkey, EDG) and the President of the Council of Europe Congress of Local and Regional Authorities Yavuz Mildon.

Oksana Bilozir (Ukraine, EPP/CD), PACE Rapporteur on "European expatriates: relations to their countries of origin", will speak on the subject of the Ukrainian diaspora. Exchanges of views will be held on Ukrainian migration policies and the ways forward presented in the Final Declaration of the 8th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Migration Affairs, which is to precede the Forum in the same International Exhibition Centre on 4 and 5 September (morning).
