President Victor Yushchenko met today with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Mirek Topolanek, according to the President`s press-office.

The sides discussed bilateral relations between Ukraine and the Czech Republic including further deepening of trade-economic ties, energy and humanitarian cooperation, etc. Separately the subject of Ukraine`s European and Euro-Atlantic integration has been brought up.

President Yushchenko said that Ukraine appreciates positive dynamics of trade-economic cooperation with the Czech Republic in recent years.

He also stressed that Czech support of  Ukraine`s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations is very important for our country. “We are currently conducting a very intensive dialogue with the EU. I am assured that the future Presidency of the Czech Republic in the EU will boost our relations... “, - said Victor Yushchenko.

When discussing energy cooperation the sides dwelled on diversification of energy resources supplies for both countries and paid much attention to talking over realization of Euro-Asian oil transport project.

Beside that President Yushchenko expressed hope that the Chech side would support incentive of the Ukrainian side to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine that our country would forward to the UN General Assembly. He also repeated his invitation to the leadership of the Czech Republic to take part in the coming International Forum dedicated to the Great Famine that is scheduled to be held in Kyiv on September 22.
