President meets Ukrainians living in the U.S.
The meeting was arranged at the Ukrainian Institute of America
President Victor Yushchenko and his wife Kateryna Yushchenko met in New York with representatives of Ukrainian community of the United States. The meeting was arranged at the Ukrainian Institute of America, according to the President`s press-office.
Speaking about Ukrainian diaspora in various countries Victor Yushchenko said that as a President he cares very much for building closer ties with Ukrainian communities abroad. He also thanked Ukrainian community of the United States for rendering constant support to Ukraine, particularly for their contribution into international recognition of Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine. He also promised that Ukraine will always be supporting its descendants in other countries.
At the end of the meeting President presented national awards to representatives of Ukrainian community in the USA.
