President Victor Yushchenko met with delegates of the European Parliament, according to the President`s press-office.

At the meeting sides discussed prospects of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Ukraine’s incentives on international community honoring the 75th anniversary of the Great Famine 1932-1933, internal political situation in our country, etc.

President Yushchenko reaffirmed that Ukraine’s strategy of integration into the EU remains unchangedand is a priority in our country’s foreign policy.

He also added that an association agreement with the EU is very important for Ukraine, as it is perceived in our country as the beginning of practical integration process.

Separately President expressed hope that deputies of the European Parliament would support establishment of visa-free travel for Ukrainian citizens to the EU.

Ukrainian side hopes for further support of our country’s European aspirations by the European Parliament, Victor Yushchenko said, adding that it concerns cooperation within the framework EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee too.
