On October 29, 2008 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Ogryzko will pay a working visit to Brussels to launch a visa dialogue between Ukraine and the EU, according to Mission of Ukraine to European Communities.

 The Minister is to meet with Mr.Jacques Barrot, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for Justice, Freedom and Security.

 The consultations on senior officials’ level on developing the relevant conditions of establishing a visa-free regime between the EU and Ukraine will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2008 to be followed by a series of expert meetings.

 The decision to launch a visa dialogue was taken at the Ukraine-EU Summit in Paris on September 9, 2008.

 In 2005 Ukraine abolished visas for the citizens of the European Union.
