Within the framework of his official visit to Brussels Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych met with Prime Minister of Belgium Guy Verhofstadt, according to the press-service of the Cabinet of Ministers. During the meeting the parties discussed bipartite cooperation and regulation of situation in Prydnistrovia.

      Futhermore, Belgian side stated proposition to broaden cooperation with Ukraine and stressed readiness to participate in investment projects. In his turn, Head of Ukrainian Government aired that Ukraine is interested in strengthening economical collaboration between the two countries.

      The parties also discussed the process of preparation for the first sitting of mixed intergovernmental commission on trade, economical and financial cooperation and prior agreed to hold it at the beginning of 2007.

      During the discussion of Prydnistrovia situation Prime Minister of Belgium, which holds OSCE Chairmanship in 2006, suggested Ukraine about the new approaches to regulate the situation in the region and activate the talks in “5+2” format.
