President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko believes that this year Ukraine has achieved a significant success in developing its relations with G7 countries.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this at a meeting with G7 Ambassadors and the Head of Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine.

”It’s extremely important for us to emphasize our strategic relations with the Great 7 countries. I believe we’ve achieved a big progress in our relations in the year 2008”, Victor Yushchenko said, adding that this year more than 50 bipartite agreements, memorandums, resolutions were signed between Ukraine and the G7 countries.

“It indicates that our relations are alive and developing”, the Ukrainian President said.

Victor Yushchenko noted that would like to thank, in particular, President of France Nicholas Sarkozy. In the opinion of Victor Yushchenko, namely due to the steps undertaken by the French President, Ukraine received a new organization of its relations with EU.
