A top Iranian aviation official says his country is prepared to order passenger planes from Boeing if the United States lifts sanctions against Iran, according to AP.

Iranian Civil Aviation Organization spokesman Reza Jafarzadeh said Thursday that U.S. sanctions are self-defeating because they denies Boeing huge profits.

Jafarzadeh says sanctions have also forced Iran to import technology from Ukraine and build planes itself.
