MOD head Bogdan Klich and US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates have concluded an agreement on cooperation between special forces of Poland and the United States, according to Polish Radio External Service.

The document was signed during a meeting of both officials with soldiers of the 2nd Mechanized Corps in Krakow who have a long record of participation in numerous NATO missions abroad.

Minister Klich stated that the present Alliance mission in Afghanistan is a true test of its credibility and military capabilities.

Secretary Gates, on his part, praised Poland’s contribution to date in Afghanistan and spoke highly of the Polish contingent there. He underscored the agreement signed in Krakow strengthens ties between both countries’ special forces, which is in the interest of the US as well as NATO. That is why Poland can count on the assistance of Washington, Robert Gates stressed.
