Eight people have died in a fire that broke out in the Obukhovsky settlement of the Sverdlovsk region on Wednesday, spokesman for the Urals regional centre of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry Alexander Sorokaletovskih told Itar-Tass, according to Itar-Tass.

“According to preliminary information, the fire started at about 03:00 a.m., local time. Eight people died in the blaze, including two children. According to one of the versions, arson could be a possible cause of the fire,” Sorokaletovskih said.

The details of the incident are being ascertained.
