60th NATO summit starts today

During the dinner of...

The two-days, 60th NATO summit, which will take place in Kiel German city and Strasbourg, starts today.

The leaders of 28 country members of NATO will gather for the summit, because Croatia and Albania were officially accepted to NATO on April 1.

During the dinner of the participants of the meeting, which will take place in Baden Baden, it s planned to discuss draft Declaration of NATO concerning security. Moreover, the leaders of the country members of NATO will discuss condition and perspectives of relations with Russia.

On Saturday, on April 4, EU leaders will cross the bridge through Rhine river, which united Kiel and Strasbourg. It is expected that President of France Nicolas Sarkozy will meet leaders of NATO country members at the middle of the bridge. After that a brief military ceremony, where the subdivisions of the troops of NATO country members will take part, will take place.

During the meeting on Saturday leaders of the countries of the Alliance plan to discuss the situation in Kosovo and Afghanistan.
