Azerbaijan and Ukraine to sign a number of documents

The main event of the Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko’s visit to Azerbaijan on April 9-10 is the first meeting of the Council of Ukrainian and Azerbaijani presidents, said Deputy Chief of the Presidential Secretariat Andrey Goncharuk, APA quotes the official website of the Ukrainian President.

He said high-ranking officials of the ministries of foreign affairs, defense and economy would participate at the Council’s meeting. “The economic, trade and investment cooperation, energy sphere, as well as transit space of the Baltic Sea, Black Sea and the Caspian military-technical cooperation will be focused at the meeting”.

Ukraine and Azerbaijan will sign a Final Protocol of the meeting, plan of measures for cooperation in 2009-2010, protocol about the amendments to the intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation signed on March 24, 2007, interregional cooperation agreement and plan of consultations between the ministries lf foreign affairs in 2009-2010.

Victor Yushchenko will attend the opening of memorial plaque in the building at Istiglaliyyat Street, 31, where the first diplomatic mission of Ukrainian People’s Republic to Azerbaijan in 1919-1920 located.
