Yushchenko hopes for facilitating visa regime with Canada

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko hopes for facilitating the visa regime between Ukraine and Canada.

He said this at a joint press conference with Governor General of Canada Michaelle Jean in Kyiv on Thursday.

Victor Yushchenko noted that in 2005 Ukraine deliberately cancelled the visa regime for Canadian citizens.

He stressed that, for the two countries that are allies and friends, and for the two nations having a common historical heritage, it would be logical to facilitate the visa regime.

He expressed a hope that the diplomatic institutions of the two countries will carry out a fruitful dialog on this issue.
