President meets US Deputy Secretary of State

President Victor Yushchenko met today with James Steinberg, United States Deputy Secretary of State, according to the President`s press-office.

At the meeting sides discussed bilateral relations between Ukraine and the USA within the scope of the new US Presidential Administration beginning its work, as well as some questions in regional and global international policy.

“Our relations are strategic today and have special meaning for Ukraine”, - said Victor Yushchenko speaking at the meeting. From his part James Steinberg said that “our common values and common aspirations provide firm grounds for our relations”.
