Russian FM Sergey Lavrov claims that Ukraine is the main foreign political partner of Russia.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, S.Lavrov said this in the beginning of the sub-commission on international cooperation, that is within the Yushchenko-Putin interstate commission framework, which opened in Kyiv today.
He stressed that Russia is satisfied with the agreements, achieved with Ukraine in the sphere of commercial-economic ties, fuel-energy complex, transport, agriculture, and space.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Lavrov and his counterpart Boris Tarasyuk will chair the first meeting of the sub-commission on international cooperation, that is within the Yushchenko-Putin interstate commission framework. They are expected to discuss readmission, delimitation and demarcation of the borders and presence of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Crimea after 2017.
Each of the sides will submit its worked out agreements on the issues to the meeting, Deshchitsa said.
