Victor Yushchenko has met with Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski for talks in Kyiv, according to the President`s press-office.
They spoke about European and regional issues, especially how to build closer economic ties between Ukraine and Poland.
The President expressed hopes a recent meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which had been held on November 13-14, would enable the two countries boost bilateral trade and implement joint projects.
Mr. Yushchenko said energy cooperation was one of the most beneficial areas.
He said the construction of a section of the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline to the Polish city of Plock was an "obvious priority" of cooperation between Ukraine, Poland and the European Union.
They also discussed a number of other projects.
Mr. Kaczynski said Poland supported Ukraine’s EU aspirations and was ready to initiate talks to sign a new enhanced agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
They also agreed to coordinate their efforts to make sure Ukraine and Poland win the bid to host the Euro 2012 finals.
