Presidents of Ukraine and Belarus Victor Yushchenko and Aleksander Lukashenko agreed to hold a bilateral meeting late in February 2007.

According to the press-office of the Belarus President, the meeting was agreed during a telephone conversation of the two Presidents today.

The Presidents are convinced that it is necessary to seriously prepare the meeting, in order to achieve signing important Belarus-Ukrainian agreements. The corresponding orders were given to the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.

According to the information of the press-service, A.Lukashenko and V.Yushchenko also shared opinions about the pressing international problems, discussed a number of bilateral issues, and gave a positive assessment to the dynamics of the commercial-economical relations between the two countries.

The telephone conversation was held on the initiative of the Ukrainian side.
