The Head of Ukrainian Government Viktor Yanukovych held a meeting with Ambassador of the People`s Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine Gao Yusheng who is winding up his diplomatic mission to our country, according to the government’s press-office.
During the meeting Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the level of Ukrainian-Chinese relations stressing that it is necessary to preserve the present dynamics of cooperation. The meeting dealt with prospects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, aircraft building, space, fuel and energy spheres, in particular.
In his turn Gao Yusheng noted that the year of 2007 would be very important for the development of Chinese-Ukrainian relations inasmuch as the visits of the Head of Ukrainian Government and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to China are scheduled for this year. The visit of high-rank officials to the PRC proves that Chinese side gives paramount importance to the relations with Ukraine, the leader of diplomatic mission emphasized.
Viktor Yanukovych said that the exact date of his visit to Chine would be named in the nearest future. The Prime Minister appreciated personal contribution of Gao Yusheng to the development of bilateral relations.
