Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych met with Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine Reinhard Schäfers, according to the CMU press-office.
The discussion was focused on preparation for concluding a new framework agreement between Ukraine and the EU instead of the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation. “We count on further German support for Eurointegration aspirations of Ukraine, in particular, during German EU presidency in the first half of 2007”, Viktor Yanukovych said.
In his turn, Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine Reinhard Schäfers hopes that a series of high-level bilateral events, slated for 2007, will give important impetus to the development of Ukrainian-German cooperation.
The sides have also discussed a future visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to Germany.
