Ukraine suggests holding annual 2008 EBRD meeting in Kyiv
Jean Lemier promised to consider the invitation from Kyiv
During Davos (Switzerland) meeting with EBRD President Jean Lemier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych offered to hold annual 2008 EBRD meeting in Kyiv, according to the government`s press-office. Corresponding invitation will be sent to the EBRD President within the nearest time. “Ukraine possesses all necessary conditions to assemble the meeting as well as appropriate experience”, as Viktor Yanukovych emphasized. According to him, Kyiv is ready in the proper way to welcome guests and hold high-level event.
Jean Lemier promised to consider the invitation from Kyiv. He noted that the final decision concerning pretender to assemble the event will be made within the closest time, taking into account all advantages for the meeting to be conducted in Kyiv.
In May 1998 Kyiv firstly hosted the annual EBRD meeting. This year EBRD meeting will take place in Russia (Kazan, May 2007). One of the pretenders to hold 2008 EBRD meeting appears to be London (Great Britain).
