Yanukovych: Ukraine`s course to Eurointegration is inevitable

Prime Minister of Ukraine announced this in Brussels

Viktor Yanukovych believes nowadays Ukraine experience consensus between political forces in view of invariability and irretrievable nature of state course to European integration, according to the government’s press-office. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine in Brussels at the joint press-conference with the EU Council Secretary General Javier Solana.

As Head of the Government said, results of the meeting prove that the Cabinet of Ministers and Eurounion leadership have common positions concerning majority of issues of strategic course of Ukraine to Eurointegrate.

Prime Minister opined that Ukrainian officials have clear understanding that proper efforts should be made targeting Ukraine’s reaching corresponding criteria, which could near our membership at the European Union. “Our Eurointegration course is irretrievable,” Viktor Yanukovych emphasized.

Head of the Government confirmed Ukraine’s readiness to apply international experience and expert advice while realizing necessary reforms and expressed his gratitude to the Secretary General of the EU Council for his support in European aspirations of our state.

PM also stated his assurance relating to ratification by Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine-EU Agreement on readmission. “Readmission issue has been approved by the Government several months ago and I believe it is to be ratified in Parliament,”- Viktor Yanukovych stressed.

Moreover, the sides have touched upon the topics of economics development in Ukraine, settlement of Transdniestrian situation and simplifying of visa regime for Ukrainian citizens.
