20 people killed in UN plane crash in DR Congo
Around 20 people were killed in a plane crash on Monday afternoon in the capital city Kinshasa of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), an airport source told Xinhua.
The UN 834 of the UN mission in the DR Congo (MONUSCO) crashed at 2 p.m. local time at the international airport of Ndjili, an immigration officer of the airport said on phone when interviewed by Xinhua.
Earlier in the day, MONUSCO said at least 10 people were killed and 16 others injured in the accident.
The crash occurred when the plane was landing after a flight from the eastern town of Goma. It broke in two and caught fire, the UN sources said.
