Victor Yushchenko and Georgia’s Mikhail Saakashvili on Thursday held talks in Kyiv after unveiling a Shota Rustaveli monument, according to the President`s press-office.  

(The two leaders agreed to inaugurate a monument to Lesya Ukrayinka in the Georgian city of Telavi this fall).

Their talks focused on how to implement agreements reached during Yushchenko’s visit to Tbilisi last March and boost economic cooperation. The Ukrainian leader praised the dynamic development of trade between the two states but said Ukraine wanted to fully implement the Free trade agreement with Georgia, particularly its provision on the sale of Ukrainian tobacco products in Georgia.

Yushchenko and Saakashvili also spoke about developments in both countries.
