Nearly half of Europeans support further extension of EU – poll

Nearly half of the Europeans (some 49%) support the further extension of EU, some 39% are against it, and some 12% have not determined their position yet.

According to UNIAN correspondent in Brussels, the researches made by TNS Opinion & Social, and published on 20th of June testify this information.

The maximal support of EU extension express the citizens of Poland (some 76%), Lithuania (some 68%), Slovenia and Romania. The minimal support express the citizens of France (some 32%), Austria (28%) and Luxemburg (some 25%).

The poll was held during 10 – 15 of May period in all EU member-states of age above 15 years. The error margin makes up 1.9%-3.1%.
