President Victor Yushchenko of Ukraine and Poland’s Lech Kaczynski on Monday signed a Euro 2012 communiqué after holding talks focusing on how to better organize and co-host Euro 2012 soccer championship finals, according to the President`s press-office.

The two leaders agreed to set up a Euro 2012 coordinating council, which will be led by both presidents. They discussed plans to draft a Euro 2012 frame agreement regulating the obligations of both sides, their cooperation with third parties and other important issues.  The presidents also spoke about their joint actions  to receive aid from the European Union to host Euro 2012.

Yushchenko and Kaczynski discussed last month’s EU summit, praising its importance for both Ukraine and Poland. They noted that both states had "similar approaches" to the values and principles an enhanced cooperation agreement between Ukraine and the EU should contain.
