President held talks on Ukraine’s EU integration with Germany foreign minister

President Victor Yushchenko on Sunday held talks with Germany’s Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeie, according to the President`s press-office.

They discussed Ukraine’s EU integration. Yushchenko said he was satisfied with talks to sign an enhanced cooperation agreement between Ukraine and the EU, thanking German Chancellor Angela Merkel for her support and expressing hopes the agreement would be signed at this year’s Ukraine-EU summit in Kyiv.

Steinmeier said Germany would continue to work hard to make these talks successful.

They also spoke about recent developments in Ukraine and the region’s frozen conflicts.

The minister thanked the president for attending today’s ceremony to open a museum in the Flossenburg Memorial Complex.
