On September 26, 2007 during the visit to New York, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with officials of the leading American investment funds in the premises of the headquarters of Bear Stearns Companies Inc. investment bank.
In the course of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current economic situation in Ukraine and minutely discussed attraction of foreign investments to Ukraine.
In this context, the Minister emphasized that the government of Ukraine pays special attention to attraction of direct investments to Ukraine in particular focusing on improvement of the regulatory base for foreign investments, reformation of the taxation system, support of business of producers of advanced technologies, reformation of the licensing and auditing system and improvement of currency transactions.
In the course of the meeting, the Head of the foreign policy office of Ukraine and representatives of the American investment funds also discussed the issues of energy security and energy carriers.
