The European Commission plans to invite representatives of Russia and Ukraine at a session of its gas coordinating group, which will be held in the middle of October.

An UNIAN correspondent in Brussels was told about that by EC representative Ferran Tarradellas Espuni.

“In the middle of October we plan to carry out a session of the coordinating group for issues of gas supplies, as it was, as you remember, in 2005”, he specified.

The European Commission representative stressed they have not determined the date of the session as yet.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Russian gas monopoly Gazprom said Tuesday it would cut gas supplies to Ukraine, which transports 80 percent of Russian gas supplies to Western Europe, if Kyiv does not pay over a billion dollars debt for earlier deliveries this month.
