On November 12, 2007, the Minister for foreign affairs of Ukraine A.Yatsenyuk during his visit to the city of Bishkek in the framework of inter-governmental Ukrainian-Kirgiz negotiations met with the Minister for foreign affairs of Kirgizstan Ednan Karabaiev, according to the MFA press-service.

 During the meeting the sides discussed current state of bilateral cooperation, interaction of both states in the framework of international organizations and exchanged opinions on developments of some topical issues in international life.

 The sides particularly discussed the state of negotiations in the process of Ukraine`s accession to the WTO and agreed to solve the issue of conclusion of bilateral protocol on accession to goods and services markets in the framework of Ukraine’s accession to the WTO as soon as possible.

 After the negotiations the Heads of Foreign policy departments signed the Protocol “On cooperation between the MFA of Ukraine and the MFA of Kirgiz republic”. This document stipulated intensification of inter-departmental cooperation and contacts on the level of both - MFA leadership and relevant structural departments aimed at elaboration of ways and mechanisms to develop bilateral relationship as well as on consultations on global and regional international problems of mutual interest.

 The Minister A. Yatsenyuk confirmed invitation to Mr. Karabaiev to pay a visit to Ukraine at his earliest convenience.
