Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych supports improvement of the Ukrainian-Russian contract basis on exploitation of the Kerch Strait for preventing the destructive consequences of natural disaster in the future, according to the government’s press-office.

“We should necessarily consider and probably reconsider the relevant agreement between Ukraine and Russia and what should be done to prevent the destructive consequences of natural disaster,” the Head of Government told journalists in an interview in Berdyansk of Zaporizhya region.

Viktor Yanukovych noted that during his meeting with Russian Head of Government Viktor Zubkov they agreed to analyze the consequences of natural disaster in the Kerch Strait clearing up what had been violated from both sides. According to the Prime Minister, a Ukrainian-Russian working group on liquidation of the consequences of disaster will be established today.

Answering a question on changing exploitation of the Kerch Strait the PM noted that the way of solving this issue to be proposed by experts and scientists who had been already attracted to this work.

“We are going to take also a decision at international level,” Viktor Yanukovych stressed.
