Ukraine to ask Russia to pay damage from ecological catastrophe in Kerch Strait
Guilty shipowners should make up losses
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine will turn to the Russian Federation with a demand to make up the losses, suffered by Ukraine as a result of the ecological catastrophe in the Kerch Strait, caused by Russian vessels.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, MFA press-service chief Andriy Deshchytsia claimed this to a news conference today.
“The damage is to be paid by ship-owners. The matter does not concern the payment from Russia as a state”, A.Deshchytsia stressed.
