Yanukovych: CIS experiences new stage of its development
Aimed at open solving of problems of CIS member states
Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych stated that CIS experiences new stage of its development aimed at open solving of problems of the CIS member states, according to the government’s press-office. Viktor Yanukovych disclosed in Ashgabat during the meeting of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov with heads of governments of the CIS states.
“It is very good that we are openly speaking about our drawbacks and we’ll transparently search ways to overcome them,” the Head of Ukrainian Government said.
The PM of Ukraine emphasized the importance of economic cooperation within the framework of CIS and stressed that sitting of the heads of governments of the CIS states would be directed at “combining efforts and giving significance to this cooperation”.
Viktor Yanukovych expressed his interestedness in development of transport and gas-transport infrastructure in the framework of CIS noting that he intends to express his opinion in detail during the bipartite meeting with the President of Turkmenistan, slated for Thursday.
Speaking about the transport infrastructure the Head of Ukrainian Government stressed that transport tariffs and development of transport corridors are important issues for all CIS participants. “We are to work out these projects and implement them,” Viktor Yanukovych said.
The Ukrainian Premier noted also efforts of the new Turkmen leadership in reforming the country paying attention to the fact that Turkmenistan becomes more open.
