The Ukrainian-American consultations on defense issues opened in Kyiv on 27 November.
According to the press-service of the Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian side is represented at the consultations by a big group of Defense Ministry and General HQ of the Armed Forces of Ukraine representatives, headed by director of the Department for Foreign Policy and Strategic Planning of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Volodymyr Korendovych. The American side is represented by a military delegation, headed by the U.S. deputy Defense Secretary.
The main aim of the Consultations is to discuss the development of the Ukrainian-American military collaboration.
The consultations, which will last till 29 November, will take place in three groups.
Participants of the first group – “Euro-Atlantic Integration” will consider strategic directions of the bilateral collaboration with the USA. The second group, called “Military Aspects of Ukrainian Armed Forces Reforming”, will discuss the bilateral collaboration between the General Headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the USA. The third group will discuss military-technical collaboration issues.
