On January 18, 2008, in the framework of the visit to Brussels, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Ogryzko presented the Third Class Order of Merit to the first Ambassador of Belgium to Ukraine Ingeborg Christoffersen, according to the MFA press-office.
Presenting the national decoration, Minister V.Ogryzko noted the merits of the Belgian diplomat in building of the Ukrainian – Belgian relations in 1992 – 1995.
The Minister underlined the fact that Ingeborg Christoffersen contributed to establishment of the first high level political contacts of the two countries, launched activity of the Embassy of Belgium to Ukraine and assisted in opening of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Benelux states in 1992.
In the decoration presentation ceremony, which was held at the Embassy of Ukraine to Belgium, Belgian and Ukrainian diplomats, representatives of the Ukrainian and local mass media took part.
