First Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Ukraine Reinhard Schäfers, according to the government’s press-office.

During the meeting the sides discussed bilateral cooperation in economic and financial spheres, preparation for holding the Football Championship Euro 2012 and the political situation in Ukraine.

Improving the investment climate in Ukraine and creating transparent procedures for all investors became an urgent issue of the bilateral dialogue. “The Government sets a task to create conditions for maximum attraction of investors,” Oleksandr Turchynov noted.

The sides touched also upon Ukraine’s accedence to the World Trade Organization. Reinhard Schäfers on behalf of Germany congratulated Ukraine which is in the closing stages of the WTO accedence.

In the context of discussing preparation and holding of the Football Championship Euro 2012, the First Vice Prime Minister assured his interlocutor that Ukraine would host the Championship at the highest level. In his turn, Reinhard Schäfers expressed readiness of Germany to provide assistance in preparation for holding Euro 2012.
