Over 300,000 people have died of the novel coronavirus worldwide.

The global death toll as of late Thursday, May 14, was 300,315 people, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The highest number of deaths from the coronavirus was registered in the United States (85,066 people), the United Kingdom (33,692), and Italy (31,368).

The overall number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide is 4,408,618. The top three countries in terms of confirmed cases are the United States (1.4 million), Russia (252,245), and the United Kingdom (234,431).

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 16,847 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of 09:00 Kyiv time on May 14. Some 456 COVID-19 deaths have already been recorded in the country, while 4,143 patients have recovered. Over the past 24 hours, 422 new cases were reported against 427 recoveries.
