The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 28.5 million patients as of September 12.

As many as 28,518,563 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported as of 12:25 on September 12, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The overall death toll is 916,040 people, while 19,228,569 coronavirus patients have already recovered.

As many as 188 countries have been affected by the virus.
