Global confirmed coronavirus cases topped three million on Monday evening.

There were 3,002,303 confirmed cases worldwide as of 20:40 Kyiv time on April 27, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

Almost one million cases (972,969) were reported in the United States alone. The top five countries also included Spain, Italy, France, and Germany.

The global death toll exceeded 208,000 cases.

Also on Monday, Russia overtook China in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases – its tally climbed above 87,000.
