The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 12 million patients as of the morning of July 10.

As many as 12,272,098 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported as of 10:34 on July 10, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The overall death toll is 554,989 people, while 6,742,467 coronavirus patients have already recovered.

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (133,291 people), Brazil (69,184), the United Kingdom (44,687), Italy (34,926), Mexico (33,526), and France (29,982).

The countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (3,118,109 confirmed cases), Brazil (1,755,779), India (793,802), Russia (706,240), Peru (316,448), Chile (306,216), the United Kingdom (289,165), Mexico (282,283), Spain (253,056), Iran (250,458), Pakistan (243,599), and Italy (242,363).

As many as 188 countries have been affected by the virus.
