The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 3.7 million patients as of the morning of May 7.

As many as 3,753,219 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported as of 09:32 on May 7, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The overall death toll is 263,843 people, while 1,245,560 coronavirus patients have already recovered.

The three countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (1,228,603 confirmed cases), Spain (220,325), and Italy (214,457).

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (73,431 people), the United Kingdom (30,150), Italy (29,684), Spain (25,857), and France (25,812).

As many as 187 countries have been affected by the virus.
