The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 24.4 million patients as of August 28.

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (180,844 people), Brazil (118,649), Mexico (62,594), India (61,529), the United Kingdom (41,564), Italy (35,463), and France (30,581).

The countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (5,869,032 confirmed cases), Brazil (3,761,391), India (3,387,500), Russia (972,972), Peru (621,997), South Africa (618,286), Colombia (581,995), and Mexico (579,914).

As many as 188 countries have been affected by the virus.
