Poroshenko: Ukrainian language was, is and to be sole state language

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stressed that the Ukrainian language was, is and will be a sole state language.

The President of Ukraine said this at the meeting of representatives of local self-governmental bodies and state power bodies in Kyiv on Wednesday.

“The Ukrainian language was, is and will remain the sole state, constitutional language of Ukraine”, - he said, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

According to his words, decentralization of power will touch upon language and culture areas.

“Local communities will have a full right to use all other languages, including Russian language, equally with Ukrainian language”, - stressed the President of Ukraine.
