The rather unusual threat by Chechnya’s parliamentary speaker came amid U.S. domestic political efforts to approve weapon supplies to Ukraine to help the country battle Russian aggression, Ukraine Today reports.

Although there was a positive vote in the U.S. Congress on a bill to provide military support to Ukraine, U.S. President Barack Obama has still not taken action on it.

Nevertheless, the first supply of non-lethal aid, Humvee military vehicles, arrived in Kyiv earlier this week.
