U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a proclamation reinstating duty-free treatment of a number of products made in Ukraine.

"It is appropriate to terminate the suspension of the duty-free treatment accorded under the GSP to certain eligible articles that are the product of Ukraine," that's according to Donald Trump's Proclamation of Oct 25, 2019, "to modify duty-free treatment under the generalized system of preferences and for other purposes".

The move comes after "Ukraine has made progress in providing adequate and effective protection of intellectual property rights," the proclamation says, according to the White House press service.

The modification will become effective five days after the date of the proclamation.

As UNIAN reported earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump in December 2017 suspended a duty-free treatment in relation to a number of goods produced in Ukraine, claiming insufficient protection of intellectual property rights.
